Frank Lloyd Wright Robie House Dining Room

Wright punctured the chimney above the central fireplace that defines the living and dining areas so that the room reads as a continuous space ringed on all sides by stained glass windows and doors.

Designed as two large rectangles that seem to slide past one another the long horizontal residence that wright created for 28 year old frederick robie boldly established a new form of domestic design. The second floor which includes the living room dining room and kitchen is not wheelchair accessible. The trust has one standard size wheelchair available at the robie house. Robie and his family was one of wright s earlier projects.

The exterior and ground floor of the robie house are accessible to guests in wheelchairs. Designed by frank lloyd wright in 1908 for the robie house chicago illinois this chair was re edited by cassina in 1986 and included in the cassina i maestri collection. Completed in 1910 in chicago united states. These display geometric patterns a riot of dynamic angles and sharp polygons of colour that are abstractions of various plant forms.
