Probably twice as bright at least. The fluval ultra bright led strip light has three rows of 7k led daylight bulbs to produce similar light intensity if a twin tube strip light but uses less energy. So far the fluval light seems very well constructed. Made of lightweight extruded plastic the fixture has a very low profile design.

Both ends of the light have extendable abs leg supports that expand to fit wider tanks. Made of lightweight extruded plastic the fixture has a very low profile design. There are also some fun gimmicky options that you can play around with including fading lunar lightning cloud cover and stormy weather. The plug is a bulky transformer plug at the very end of the cord which i am not crazy about because it takes up too much room on a surge strip but it works fine.
