If you have a continuous floor drain in your garage or laundry room a backup can be a messy experience.
Waste water may drain out when you open the cleanout and when you break the clog.
Any waste that the clog has caused to build up will come spilling out of the main line drain.
Open the cap and let the buildup drain out.
The main clean out fitting is usually a large diameter pipe with a threaded plug in the top.

If yours doesn t have a screw or you ve just taken the screw out you can easily pry the grated top out of the floor.
If you don t like the odor you can use peroxide to gently bubble away the remaining debris.
Find a clean out plug located on a large drain pipe in areas such as your basement crawl space garage or near the foundation of your house.
In some instances the clean out fitting will be flush mounted in the floor but it may also be a raised stub out pipe.
